MUTEK began in Montreal in 2000 as a platform to promote developments in electronic music and digital artistry. This December 11th to 15th, MUTEK will be celebrating its fourth year in Japan with MUTEK.JP Edition 4 in Shibuya and it’s time to you get hyped up!
Far from the worn-out dubstep, EDM, and techno that you hear in every club, rave, and party, the electronic music featured on MUTEK is far more refined. Although these genres do exist under the umbrella of electronic music, in its purest form, electronic music is usually void of those sweet, sweet bass lines that people normally crave.
Typically of the experimental variety, it is – and there is no other way to put it – an experience. The artists who appear at MUTEK test the boundaries of human imagination with the ingenuity and creativity they pour into their compositions and performances.
